The Last Hurrah

Hello, Hello!!!!! This last week was full of craziness. Everyone kept on asking me when I was leaving. And honestly, telling them Wednesday, I don't feel like the time for me to go will come. But we were able to work hard this week.

My zone leader wanted everyone who was finishing the mission to baptize this last Saturday. We had an investigator who could do it if we could get her excited to be baptized. So the Elders came to work with us on Wednesday and Elder Garcia got her to say yes!! So exciting!! the sad thing is that the rest of the week we could not find her.....Friday night we were able to find her and she told us that her dad would not give her permission until she turned 18. We were a little sad because we had hoped for a baptism to end our time together....but we trust the Lord. he knows when and why. He knows when these people will really be ready. And he knews what we can handle and what we need to learn!!! Maybe I had different things to learn than baptizing 100s of people!!

I am so eternally grateful to my Heavenly Father for calling me to serve a mission. It has been the hardest thing I have done in my life...but I have learned so much and forever changed my life. I hope you are ready to see the new Sariah!!!! I have grown to love the Lord and this Gospel more than I ever have. I have learned to appreciate the Atonement and apply it to my own life. I have learned to love God's children a little like he does. I have a firm knowledge that God loves each and every one of us and that he cares so much for us and our happiness. I know that He has a perfect plan for me and for all of you!!! It is hard sometimes, and we fall sometimes, but He will not leave us alone, he is always with us to encourage us and help us feel his love. I know that we are in the truth!!!! And I am so grateful for that!!! I know that we have prophets and the authority to perform ordinances and make covenants so that we can make it back to him someday!!! I know that Jesus came to earth and suffered and died for us. And I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. It has changed my life and I have seen how it has changed the lives of so many other people!!!!

There is a lot more that I have learned!!! But that is just a little bit. I know that the real test will be living the things taht I learned after the mission. But I am grateful to all of you for all of your support and love!! I couldn't have done it without you!!!! I hope you know how much I love you all!! I am excited to see you!!!

Thank you again!!! I sure love all of you!!!!
        With all my love,

 Hermanita Morey :)

Never Look Back

Hello!!! Sorry, the time passed by SO fast. I don't have much time to write the long letter. But I will write a bit.

This week has been very good!! I went to my last interview which was weird. Not ready to think about life yet!!!! But it was good and I felt like he helped me to know how to make some decisions! And I could feel his love. But still not ready to leave yet :)

I have two quotes that will be my moto this week: Never Look back, look at what we still have to do!!! (Elder Dube) And A fundeamental Question remains to be answered by each of us: shall I falter or shall I finish? (Pres. Monson). So That is what I will be thinking as my time comes to an end. That I have to take advantage of EVERY minute!! As my companion asked me this week: Why do I still have a week left? To Baptize and retain!!! Woot!!

But I sure loved the conference!! The talk that really touched me was the talk by Elder Martinez. That answered questions that I had!!!! I sure loved conference and am excited to read them later on!!!!

Thank you for all your prayers!!! We have been able to find some people who are really progressing well. We think they may close our area. We are a little sad about taht....for the people we are teaching, but the Lord knows best!!!! But I am super happy here. Happy with my companion. Happy with the work!!!!

I hope you know how much I love this work, how much I love the Lord. I have a greater determination to do what is right!!! I know the Atonement will help me become and do what I was meant to!!!!

I love you all!!! Until next week!!!

Love, Your nica Hermanita!! Morey!!!!

P.S. Sorry for not writing more!!!

Not Giving Up Yet

Well, the time is slipping away from me!!! This week has been a good one!! I absolutely LOVED women's conference. I think everyone enjoyed the talk by Pres. Uchtdorf. It makes me so grateful that we have prophets and apostles in these days. They really receive revelations and know what we need right NOW. I am so excited for conference!! I will probably only be able to go to Sunday morning....but I am excited to hear the Prophet's voice!!!

This week.....just about all the positive people we were teaching fell through. Gotta love missionary work. Sometimes I look at my area and think 'well, good thing I am sure I have changes and am going home, so that I don't have to worry about the area!!' But then I think 'no!, gotta work my hardest!!' I am not going to give up yet!! But sometimes it is hard. We pray a lot to have the faith to find, the patience and diligence to keep looking. I am confident that it is when we least expect it, that the miracles come. So we will see what miracles the Lord has in stor the for hermanitas de Rosario II in these next 2 weeks!! Our zone leader told us on Friday in Zone Conference that he loves this zone because it is where we learn to develop a good relation with our Heavenly Father. Have a conversion like Enos. It is true. I have felt that I have learned to accept the will of the Lord. To do my best, and accept the outcomes how he designed it. Not to wine or get upset. Just accept it and keep going. What else can I do? And I have felt EVERYTIME that I pray and ask the Lord if I am doing enough, if he accepts the work I do when I feel so down and lonely, I have felt peace and his love. So I know he never forgets us and is always willing to help us feel his love!!

Nothing too much has happened this week!! I gave my last testimony in Zone Conference (all the missionaries who are going home share their testimony in their last conference) and I have my last interview with president scheduled for Wednesday!! how crazy. It has gone by fast. But I am loving the time with my companion....even if the area is killing me :)

Thank you for all of your prayers and love!!!

Love, Hermanita Morey!!

P.S. Keep Estiven Quintanilla in your prayers!! He got diagnosed with Leukimia this week!! Poor kid!! All he says is that he wants to go to church.....:( But we think everything will be okay!!

Love you!!

I Love Nicaragua

Hello, Hello!!!!

It has been a crazy week and it has gone by so fast!!!! I have to think back and remember everything that happened. It has been a VERY good week. Yeah, there were some hard days....but I can't remember them too well :)

The week started off with the Elders putting super high goals for Tuesday. 10 lessons and 50 contacts......sometimes I hate that. But we were actually able to complete them....and we were able to put a date with Danilo!!! He told us Sunday he did not want to think about putting a date, so we had decided to not touch the subject. We went to the appointment and he told us he wanted to be baptized as soon as possible. That was a MIRACLE!!!! We just hope he is sincere and is willing to change the things necessary in his life and really look for answers to all of his questions and doubts. So taht was a good day!!

Then Wednesday we went to a multizone activity. It was INCREDIBLE. So spiritual, so good to hear president and Hermana Russell talk about things taht they felt like we needed. I felt like they were talking to me, not to a group of missionaries!!!! I love how the spirit works taht way. We can be in a group of people listening to a talk, but the spirit testifies to us in a way so personal, answering all the questions and doubts that only we have. A manifestation of god's great love!!! They talked about how we need to live our lives in a way to have the gift of the Holy Ghost with us always. And President talked about how we need to be better teachers of the Gospel and how we need to have a conversion like Enos. A lot more, but I can't write it all here :) Overall it was my favorite. And we had a lot of fun!!! I don't know anybody in the mission anymore, but it was good to see new faces!!!

We have finally been able to find some good people!! That has been a miracle as well!!! We are able to complete with almost all of the goals everyday, and we are enjoying a lot more the work we have to do here. We both feel like we know everybody here in this little pueblito. But we just try to have the faith that there are still people who haven't heard, or who have heard and now are ready to accept the Gospel. but at least now all of our backup plans aren't contactar :)

I don't know why this week has been so extremely good. We had some days without being able to find anybody, but we ended it well. 7 people went to church and 4 are progressing. I think my companion and I are getting along super well, and that helps. We just have fun together. We love the work. It is so sad for me because I feel like I am becoming the best missionary I have been....and I am leaving!!!! I am super torn. but mostly I am not ready to leave yet!! There are more people to help and serve!!! I really truly can say I love Nicaragua, and the people here!!!

I have been reading el libro de mormon this week in my favorites chapters about the Great Apostasy in 2nd Nephi. I found my new favorite scripture!!! In 2 Nephi 26:23-28. It talks about the love that God has for us ALL. nobody is exempt. He wants every single one of his children to come back to him. And it all depends on us and the decisions we make!!! That is the beauty of missionary work!!!!!

I would love to hear what your favorite scriputres are, and why!!!!

So, just know that I am happy here and doing well. Working my tail off. A little more tired, but happy and working :) Just pray for a few investigators: Martha and Joni, and Danilo Mena. A convert Estiven!!

Thanks so much for all your love and support!! I love you all!! uintil next week :)

What Makes a Successful Missionary

hello!!! It has been a very good week. Very fulfilling and full of lots and lots of hard work. We have been working the hardest that I have ever worked in my mission. The Lord blessed us to be able to work harder, more efficiently, better complete with the goals President and we have set, and the best FIND NEW PEOPLE!!! Not everything has gone perfectly (sadly, it never does) but we have been able to give our all and truly go to bed tired and happy with the work we have done. That is the best feeling. Not everyone we have been able to find has worked out. But we have been blessed to get to know a new investigator. His name is Danilo Mena. he is about 40 and a little strange. But he went to church on his own and has really loved it. He has been guided and directed by our Heavenly Father to find this path. he has a great desire to change his life and do what is right. He won't be easy, because there are changes he has to make that even we don't know what they are yet. But his desire is the key!! I know he will get baptized!! With me or with other missionaries, it doesn't quite matter. The key is that I got to know him!!!
So that was a good thing from the semana!!!

Yesterday and today are celebrations for independence in ALL of central America. So things have been slow because everyone is gone. Even though there was hardly anybody in Sacrament Meeting yesterday I think it was one of the most powerful testimony meetings I have been in. The old members shared aobut their firmness and their faith through all the hard times here in nicaragua, a few new members shared about the joys of finding this incredible gospel, and some less actives about their journey coming back to what they knew all along was the truth. I loved it. I think everybody felt the spirit very strongly. Really testimonies are the most powerful thing we have to share!!!

So that is really all from me here in nicaragua. nothing too special. Just seeing the Lord guide us, and trying everyday to be our best. It has not been easy for either my companion or me here in Rosario, but I think the Lord is happy that we just keep plugging along :) And I try to help us remember what really is a  successful missionary. Is it really the numbers, or the love and effert? And remembering that the lessons I have to learn are different from others. But, we keep going.

I hope you know how much I love you all!!! I hope you have INCREDIBLE weeks!!! Remember to keep reading your Libro de Mormon, saying your prayers, and doing your best. Then you will see miracles :) Not the miracles we necesarily think we need, but what the Lord knows we need :) I pray for you all daily!! Thanks for all your prayers!!!

Love, tu hermanita Morey

My Mission Has Changed My Life

Pues hope you are all having a great week!!! This week has been full of the usual ups and downs of life!! I am sure you all want to know about changes :) Well......if you haven't heard I will be dying here in Rosario!!!! I am happy about that. There is so much work but we will get 'er done!! And Hermana Mejia will be killing me!!!  I know this change will be full of its own little trials and miracles. I just hope that I can learn the lessons that the Lord wants me to in my time here!! There are people to find and lives to change!! People to love and serve. Including my companion!!

This week was the open house and dedication of the new chappel. That was a cool experience. About 100 people who weren't members came to see the chappel. And we had 9 investigators in church!! Woot! It is absolutely gorgeous. It is a new design for the buildings here in Nicaragua, and I think in Central America. Everyone is so excited to be out of the cramped house and into a spacious new building. Even though it doesn't really matter where we are, because the spirit will be there, it will be more comfortable and we hope will induce more interest in the church. Yesterday for the dedication it was so good. The spirit was so strong as the speakers talked about the importance of the gospel and how lives can really change there. I especially liked the class we had in Gospel Prinicpals about repentance. How crucial repentance is in our lives!! How grateful I am to Jesus Christ for the ability that I have to repent every single day. I know I do so many things wrong, and don't do what I know I should do. But I can feel the peace and hope of repentance!!

Yesterday we had a fun experience. Every single day we have made plans to go to an area that is very far away to contact a reference.every day something happened: It rained, my companion got sick, people couldn't go with us. Yesterday we decided to go no matter what (deciding satan did not want us to go). AS soon as we left....it POURED. But we carried on. Walking through rivers :) We ended up not finding the reference, but found an old investigator who is super special. And she is only there Sundays. So I guess we needed to find her and help her remember to say her prayers and read the scriptures. The Lord really is in control!!!!

I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have had to serve a mission!! I have learned so much from my areas, the members, my companions, myself. Things that I could not have learned any other way. I am grateful that the Lord called me, and that I answered. I have been able to feel the joys and pains that Christ went through, and feel the love He has for ALL of his children. I can say like Elder Holland that my mission has changed my life. It has been the hardest thing of my life, but it is worth it!!! I would do it again....:)

Well, I sure love you all!! Have a great week!! Know that I love you all!!!!

Love, Hermanita Morey (the first :)

P.s. Some talks I have loved. REad them this week!

When You Love Nicaragua More Than Your Home....

Okay, I love home and all..... But this week we had Zone Conference and we went to the great city of Rivas. So another travel in those lovely microbus. I have gotten used to it. As I looked out the window I was overwhelmed with a love for Nicaragua. It was SO green because it has been raining finally. So pretty. It truly is beautiful here. Everyone should come and get to know it better. I love Gallo pinto, their cheese, pinolillo....everything. Maybe sometimes the people are crazy and totally different than I am used to....but I love them. Hey, I am Nica as well!! Hope your ready to have a Nica part of the family!!! :)

First of all...Hna. Mejia finished her training!! Wow!! how fast that went by. now we will be leaving at 10:30 everday....so weird for me!!!

This week was a lot better than the last. But we still have NO luck whatsoever finding people. It was funny because in training we had to watch the District 2. And one of the companionships talks about how they are having NO success. I just felt a little more connected with those missionaries this time around wathcing the videos :) We are going to try really hard this week to complete with ALL of the goals of exelence so that we can see some miracles here....because we need it. I feel like we are doing EVERYTHING. But sometimes you just gotta give a little more, right? At times in my mission I have wondered if I have the faith necessary, or if it is just a test of patience and diligence. Whatever it is, we have things to learn!! We hope this week gets better!!

And just so you know...we had to drop Larry and Angelica. They made our heads swirl and couldn't tell if the Lord was directing us to keep going or drop them. When neither one of them came to church yesterday we knew that was the answer. Maybe later on!!

So....just pray for us that we can find some new people!!!! And if you want a good machete for yourself read 2 Nephi 28: 7-9. We really have to be obedient right now, because even though God is merciful, he is just as well!!

I hope you know how much I love you all!! Enjoy your day off!!! Thank you ALL for all your help and support in my mission. I can't thank you enough!!!

Con muchisimo amor, Hermanita colochita (aka Morey :)

P.S. Next week I will send more pictures!! Forgot my cord!!!!

LAST TRANSFER

So how is the heat over there in the states?!?! I don't know if it gets hotter here in Managua, or there in the states. I sure feel like I am going to melt when I am there :)

I can't believe that we are ending this change and that I am entering my last change in the mission!!! IT goes by so extremely fast!!!! I am super nervous. Not ready at all to be at this point in my mission. Not ready to come back to the real world!! Maybe ready to not need to contact tons of people every week....but the rest, not so much!!! But I plan on making this last change my best :) We will see lots of miracles, I am determined for that. And I am only nervous to see where I end. I would like to finish my mission here in Rosario.....cross your fingers :)

This week has been an interesting week. We have had some ups and downs. We had interviews which were really great. He helped me feel like I am doing alright here and assured me that the baptisms really aren't the most important thing to him, but who we become in the mission. He knew the things that I needed to here! I always feel the spirit super strongly after interviews with him. He is a great president! So my goal: just work my hardest and focus on loving the people the best I can.

I know you all want news of Larry and Angelica.....well.....Angelica really wants to. But we can't tell if Larry just gives us excuses so that he doesn't have to get married. We aren't sure he is ready to leave his life behind of being able to go out with whoever he wants. But this Wednesday the APs are going to come and see how they can help us!! Hopefully we can help them both see the blessings that the Gospel will bring them and obedience to all of God's commandments will help them in ways that nothing else in this world can give them! But other than that....we are starting from zero again in this area. Back to contacting. President told me he knew that contacting is the bane of my existence...but maybe the Lord wants me to love it by the time I leave. But we are for sure going to find some new people! We are excited for this week!!

Other than that.....things are just the same! We are working on having faith and patience here. And a little bit (or maybe a lot) of diligence. This week I think we move into the new chappel!! Yeah!! It is SUPER pretty. And I am excited to be able to play the piano there. The piano right now does not have a pedal :)

Thank you for all your prayers and for your love and support!! You are the best!! I hope you all have a GREAT week and have fun at school and at work. Know I love you muchisimo!!!!

Con muchisimo amor, Hermanita Morey

Pray For Investigators

Mangua, Managua, Managua, Jinotepe, MANAGUA!!!!!!! That is the sound we here as we travel to Managua...and every other place in Nicaragua. When we travel in buses, they all yell out the destination and try to fill the bus to the brim to make as much money as possible. IT makes traveling super fun :) But we have had to go to Managua for 2 pdays, and will have to go again the next one.....woot!! I don't love Managua because I always feel like I am going to get lost, but I am getting pro at it. AT least we know where the doctor's office is, and how to get to McDonalds after that :)

We have been able to have a good week!! I really enjoy my companion. We get along really well!! We can laugh a lot, we have fun doing the work even when we get super frustrated, and we talk about our goals and what we can do better. I will be super sad if we have changes....but in the 2 weeks we have together we will do something great!! I just know it.

We had a wonderful experience this week with Angelica. We stopped by unanouced and asked her if she feels like the Lord is answering her prayers. She told us she has felt peace and tranquility and takes that as her asnswer!! Yay!!!!! That was cool. But then we passed by another day and she told us a huge problem had come up and they are super overwhelmed with that. Larry told us yesterday he got so upset with the Lord he told himself that he would never go back to church or accept us in his house again....its that bad. The only thing that we can do is pray for them, and hope that they can make the right decision. Satan really does not want them to take this step and is doing EVERYTHING to scare them away from it. He did tell us that he was talking to Angelica and said that maybe they have been praying so long asking for answers that now it is time that they get up and act. Pray for them!! I don't really want them to be baptized because I know that the President wants 250 baptisms this week, but because I know the blessings the Gospel will bring them. I know that if they back down now, it will be so hard down the road. We will just have to wait and be patient, and have lots of faith. Hoping for a miracle with them!!

I think one thing I have learned on the mission is to have confidence in myself. Knowing that I am very imperfect and do a lot of things wrong, and make lots of mistakes, that if I do my absolute best and give my all, that the Lord will help me. He will work miracles through me if I do my part. It does not mean that it will be easy, or that everything will work out perfectly, but I will know that I did my best. I know that the Lord has things for me to learn here, and wants me to stretch and grow in ways that I couldn't have in any other way. Even if I don't baptize the most, even if I don't speak the best spanish, even if I don't teach the best, if I try everyday, I will be able to help someone. It is hard to learn that, but something I think that will help for the rest of my life. I problaby won't be the best mom, or the best sunday school teacher, or best student myself, but if I do my best the Lord will make up for the rest.

I know the Lord loves us all, and is willing to give us peace when we need it. I know that he knows our potential (which is to be a God!!) and that he is ALWAYS rooting for us. I know that we cannot even comprehend how the Atonement blesses us, but that we can always use it to change and to be better every single day.

That is my message for today :) Thanks for all of your love and prayers!! I sure love you all!!!! Have a great day and wekk!! And good luck Clair starting your mission! I love you!!! ButI know I am your favorite Hermana Morey :)

Love always, Hermanita colochita Morey

You Never Know What's In Store

Hello Hello!!! how are all of you guys doing this week?! I hope that mom had a GREAT birthday!!! the big 50!! Sorry I wasn't there for that...but don't worry, I will throw an egg at you when I get home :) And SO exciting about Clarissa!! Going to California. I always thought it would be interesting to serve in the states after serving here in central America.....and now you get the chance!!! We will see what this next adventure brings you!!!!
This week was another week of searching, and searching, and searching.....looking for new people. But we just never seem to find any!!! An ex bishop told us on Friday that the reason why it is so hard in this area is because everyone really has heard the missionaries before. There are very ver few who never have received them, never talked to people like us before, or the members haven't invited them. So we will see what we do with that information. Like President told us Tuesday. The time for planting the seeds has passed (because everyone has heard the message) now it is time for the harvest, to find the ones who are really prepared to take the step of baptism. I know there are people here...the spirit just has to guide us to whom.
Sadly enough the baptism for the marvelous family Bismar and Kristian fell through.....that was hard. They stopped coming to church and he doesn't want to stop believing in his saints. His mom told us that maybe it is the stress of not having a job. I hope they will make the choice and have the faith and strenght to take the step sometimes soon. We know it will bless their lives greatly, they just have to trust that as well.
So we have to drop one family....but a miracle happened. Larry and ANgelica are ready to be baptized!!!! Wohoo!!! 5 months in the making this miracle. Larry has a true desire now to take the step, and his girlfriend is willing to do it with him!! She has been to church 3 times now and really enjoys it. They can feel the blessings of the gospel in their home. It was interesting to hear the doubts of Larry and Angelice, then Bismar and Kristian. Bismary was just excuses and problems, Larry was worried about falling away afterwards, becoming less active. They are excited, and we are excited for them!!! Really....you never know what God has in store for you. We just have to keep working and doing our part, and something great always happens. We are hoping we can find some more people willing to take this step as well!!!!
That is pretty much it for the week. It started raining.....pouring. I wish I could have taken a picture of it!!! Also, we had the miracle of having 7 people in church on Sunday.....wow. The Lord is blessing us. I haven't eaten anyting new.....just saw a pig being butchured....yum. Let me know if there are pictures that you would like to see, things that you would like to know about Nicaragua and my area!!!!
I sure love you all!! I am grateful for this Gospel and the blessings taht I have in my life from it. I know the Lord loves us. I know he is there for us. I know he will bless us when we are obedient.
I sure love you tons!!!!
Love, tu hermanita favorita Hermana Morey

The Lord Knows ALL Things

ENTONCES!!!? Como estan todos esta semana!!? Pues here everything is
going well. Still working hard. We had an interesting week this week.
Let me tell you about it :)
So Tuesday the zone leaders asked us not to put any appointments.
They then told us that they wanted us to contact 100 people that day,
and maintain the 6 lessons, and put 2 dates, especially with families.
do you know how many people are 100? That is a LOT. sometimes we feel
like it is hard to contact the 20 everyday. But we decided tto have
faith and do it!! It was hard. We had to contact EVERYBODY we saw. And
I mean everybody. And even if we didn't find too many people positive,
I do feel like it helped us to get rid of the fear that even me, with
15 months in the mission, feel sometimes to contact people. It didn't
matter if we didn't want to....we HAD to talk to them. And we felt
afterwards that 20 people everyday was no problem at all :) So it was
successful in that way, even if we spent the rest of the week super
tired.
Rosario is going the same as usual. Working to have the faith to
find new people. I have noticed, however, that we find people in the
most unlikely places. Maybe someone we contacted before, a house we
always seem to pass by with the feeling to contact but we never do it,
family of members who beforehand weren't positive, etc. The Lord has
people prepared, we just have to be willing to go where he wants us
to!! Even though it is hard for me here, I will keep giving it my all
so that I can say I held nothing back to help people learn of the
gospel here. But even though it is so hard, I still love it here.
Bismar and Kristian didn't come to church again, so we have to see
what impedes them from coming, and what their doubts are (I think they
are nervous about getting married). We pray that a miracle will happen
and that 1 of our 2 families will get baptized this month.
In Zone meeting this week the ZLs announced that President has
uped the goals of exelence....yikes. So now we have to contact 24
people daily, teach 7 lessons, 4 lessons with less actives or
converts, and 6 people or more in church every week. It is hard, and I
feel so especially here in Rosario. But the funny thing was that the
next day in my studies I read the par where Nephi says 'I will go and
do the things the lord commands. I know that he provides a way he
wants me to obdy' and then the next chapter where he talks about how
the Lord commanded him to make another set of plates and he didn't
understand why, just that it was a commandment, and the Lord knows all
things. I know it it something I can be applying to me and my area
right now!! do what is asked, even when I do not understand all
things.
I hope that you all know that I know the church is true!!! I love
the Gospel. It is NOT easy. It will never be easy. We choose the
harder route. But we learn from Lehi's dream (one of my favorites)
that at the end we have a wonderful surprise waiting for us, one that
makes it all worth it. We will be so happy that we chose this path and
made the right choises even when it was hard, even when it was not
popular. We all have to remember that sometimes. think of the
eternity, not just the right now. Remember the promises and God has
made us and know that he always follows through. I know he loves us
all!!!

I love you all!!! I hope you have a great week!!! Tell me what
happens with Clair!! I want to know!!!

con mucho amor,

Stand Firm

Bueno pues!!! Another week has gone by!! changes came and gone. There were lots and lots of them. 25 misionaries left, and 22 came. That is a lot. We got a new AP and lots of new elders were made zone leaders and a new hermana leader. I was SURE it would be Hermana Anderson but it was Hermana Edwards!! She came with me, and I know she will be great. But we stayed the same!! I was not shocked because I have to finish training!!!! We will see what happens in another 6!!!

Nothing much happened this week. The same old, same old. Chugging along here in good 'ole Rosario. I must say, I am grateful for the members here and the energy they have to help us, and to have Hermana Escobar here with me. The Lord seems to always surround me with people who give me animo and are great examples to me.

Do you remember Larry? We had to drop him and his wife this week. They just do not want to keep their commitments and right know don't have enough faith in the Lord to marry and get baptized. It is sad because we saw how excited he was for such a long time. But something happened. After all the time he has had with missionaries this was the first time he really went to church and kept at it. We just hope that they will let the missionaries in again in the future and that they will be more ready and willing to change their lives.

Our family is progressing well even if they did not go to church yesterday. They are willing to change, at least he is. She needs to gain confidence in him to be able to marry him, but he is willing to do the changing and show her that he is. We had a very good lesson with them and the ward mission leader and they passed the SAME situation. It was perfect. They were able to see that it is possible, and necessary. So we will keep working with them. It is funny because Bismar is a big burly man with tatoos and who has done all sorts of bad stuff. But as we teach him he is soft and quiet. After teaching the law of chastity I thought that leaving the pamphlet to read would be enough, but before leaving he asked 'aren't you going to leave me something pretty to read in the Book of Mormon?' That was cool!!! they will get baptized, I know.

Other than that, things are the same!!! It was interesting too. This week I read a talk from Conference about standing firm in our faith. I don't remember who wrote it. But it talks about how even if the world thinks it is okay and 50 million people are doing it, it still is not okay. Then we were in a lesson that day and a woman told us, but everyone here in Nicarauga does it, so we don't have to get married!!! I just had to laugh a little bit to myself. Sometimes we just don't understand that the Lord's way is the  ONLY way.

so that is all. I hope you know that I love you!!!! Hope things are going well and that you are all happy and loving laugh :) Keep smiling, keep swimming :) That is what  I have to do!

Answers to Prayers

Hola, como están ustedes!¡? Espero que todo bien, y que están felices y progresando bien. I will write quickly because there is not much time!

Saturday was a big day here. It is the day that Nicaragua obtained independence. Sandanista is the political party that is in power right now. Everyone who works basically is obligated to go to Managua to celebrate (very different, no?) If you have a good job, you have to declare yourself as sandanista and show that you are to be able to get the job. So buses after buses passed by to take all the people there. Managua is PACKED and really just lots of partying goes on. So Rosario was pretty calm and quiet but we were able to get some work done¡! So that was exciting.

But the big news..........WE FOUND A FAMILY!!!!!! Really, we had taught them once and they had come to church....but they accepted a date. It is Bismar and Kristian. SUPER super prepared. The  Lord really blessed. us. And I know that it is for your help, prayers, and fasting. Thank you SO so much for caring about the work I do here and giving us the extra help we need. REally. the Lord has blessed us, and blessed them, and all because we have been working hard and doing our best. They do need preparation and need to get married and he needs to stop smoking, but they have had good experiences and want to keep going!!!! We passed by Tuesday and Bismars uncle started telling us Mormons werent welcome there because they were catholic. Bismar said no, no, no. I like this church. You be nice to them! That was pretty cool. They are obtaining a testimony!! We will let you know how that goes!!

REally, I love you all. I love this work. Sometimes it is terribly hard, boring, frustrating, but the good moments really make up for all the bad. This work really is a demonstration of the love the Lord has for ALL of his children. I know that we can find the answers we need in the BOM. That the Lord will comfort us when we need it and lift our burdens. If we feel bad....that is satan, he wants us to feel bad about ourselves. Look for the small blessings and miracles around you, I know that that has helped me in my life! I know that in this Church we have the true authority of God restored by Peter James and John, to Joseph Smith. Even though we, as members are very imperfect, the church is perfect. It brings me such joy and happiness....how can it not be true!!!

Have a great week. Keep up the great work!!! I sure love you and pray for you!!

Love always and Forever (Name that movie!)
